Take Home A Bag Of Our Ground Philippine Coffee

At CPI Call Shop & Business Cafe we proudly serve only the finest Philippine coffee, procured especially for CPI from farmers in the beautiful Cordillera Mountains in Northern Luzon, and in the provinces of Cavite and Batangas south of Manila.

Funny thing, but if you go to some of the big time local and international coffee chains in the malls, you simply cannot find Philippine coffee being served. It’s always some exotic imported coffee. Or try to buy bags of Philippine coffee in the local supermarket. It’s nearly impossible.

Philippine coffee, though, is some of the finest brew in the world. Bold, flavorful and always with a nice kick…once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Philippine coffee, you’ll be a fan forever.

At CPI we offer8 different varieties of Philippine coffee; Sagada Arabica, Benguet, Kalinga, Barako, Premium Barako and our own special blend, CPI Peace Special, Hazelnut, and Espresso Blend.  Each has its own special characteristics, and frankly, we can’t say which one is better than the other. Truth be told, they are all great. So here’s a little more about each variety, including the price.(Please note the recent price change below each description. The label shown does not indicate the current price.)

Perhaps our most popular coffee is the Sagada Arabica. Arabica coffee has always been highly prized throughout the world. Arabica is indigenous to Ethiopia and Yemen and is believed to be the first known species of coffee to be cultivated, having been grown for well over 1000 years. It is usually cultivated between 1,300 and 1,500 meters altitude, but there are plantations as low as sea level and as high as 2,800 m.

The magical village of Sagada, located high up in Mt. Province, provides the perfect climate and locale to grow Arabica coffee. Our Arabica is organically grown and we always give it a dark roast, resulting in a somewhat sweet, aromatic flavor. You will positively love it.

“Benguet coffee is the best there is!”

That’s how the locals in Benguet province describe their coffee, of which they are deservedly very proud. Coffee growing in Benguet province has quite a colorful history. The red mountain soil, combined with the cool air of this gorgeous highland province, has produced some of the finest coffee in the world for well over two centuries. Benguet coffee is a blend of Robusta and Excelsa beans, and then dark roasted. The result is a bold and fruity flavor that leaves the palette in awe.

If you’re one of those people that likes to go native, and travel to the very heart of the indigenous tribal Philippines, then Kalinga coffee is the brew for you. Consisting of 100% pure Robusta beans grown in the remote northern highlands of one of the Philippines most remote provinces, Kalinga coffee is guaranteed to knock you off your feet. This is one strong coffee, with caffeine levels 40-50% higher than our other varieties. Combined with its naturally bold flavor, Kalinga is sure to get you up and ready to take on the day.

Barako coffee is the Philippine term for coffee produced in the provinces of Batangas and Cavite. This Philippine coffee is of the Liberica variety. Liberica is rare and exotic, grown only in 3 countries out of about 70 coffee producing countries in the world. The first Barako tree was a  cutting from Brazil planted in the 1800s in Barangay Pinagtung-Ulan, Batangas by the Macasaet family. Barako coffee has strong taste, flavor, and has a distinctively pungent aroma.  This is the classic taste of the Philippine Islands.

While our regular Barako offers a more general pick of the harvest, our Barako Premium consists of only the choice pick beans. There is nowhere else in the Philippines that offers this kind of premium selection. Normally when you buy barako coffee, you take what you get. With our Premium Barako you get the best of the best.  This is truly an amazing Philippine coffee.
